From the Blawgernacle – September 8, 2009

DoJ lawyer Jeff Breinholt kicked off a series of legal mosts on Mormon Matters by asking if wrongful excommunication is legally actionable. In true lawyer form his post is loaded with footnotes. It’s a fun discussion, and I look forward more of Breinholt’s posts.

Nate Oman of Times & Seasons writes about the asymmetrical use of critical theories in religious studies. The focus of the post isn’t especially legal, although I think his criticism applies to proponents of competing legal theories as well. It’s a dense post that only a law professor would write.

Jeff Breinholt’s second post on Mormon Matters examines religious persecution asylum cases by foreign Mormons and compares them to other denominations.
